2017 - Week 12

Nothing too shocking this week I think. Perhaps the only really shocking one was the loss by Oklahoma State that caused them to drop out of the top 25 (down 8 to 27th).
- The top three remained the same. One of the regressions I ran did have ND move above Alabama, but that doesn't really seem right and this regression makes the most sense anyway.

- Notre Dame continues to hold a playoff spot, but considering that their losses are both to top 6 teams, it's not too shocking. With so little time left this season, I have a feeling they may maintain that berth.  The result of the SEC championship may affect ND some, especially if UGA loses that game (thus making ND also look worse).
- Clemson's FCS game moved them down and gave openings for Wisconsin and UGA to jump them.
- UCF won again, but as I predicted weeks ago, they continue to slip because their late-season schedule is so much weaker than the SEC, ACC, B10, and ND schedules.

- The biggest upward move on the week was a tie between Kansas State and Florida (+21), both of whom had big upset wins. Kansas St beat OkSt as mentioned above. Florida beat UAB (-16).

- The biggest downward moves was also a tie between Syracuse and South Alabama (-17), both of whom lost by big margins.  South Alabama's loss was a much bigger upset but it only helped 126th ranked Georgia Southern move up 3 spots (they still suck).
-  The Utah game was an absolute heartbreaker. We were up against Washington for most of the game and had a 7 point lead with less then 2 minutes left.  Some horrible play calling and bad time management gave UW a chance and they took it to win by a FG made with 0:00 left on the clock. Utah falls 8 spots to 80th and is still short of bowl eligibility.
