The Utes looked as good as they perhaps ever have, in the history of the program, this week against UCLA. They dominated every phase of the game. They haven't given up a TD at home in nearly four complete games. They lead the PAC-12 in nearly every defensive stat, and are top 5 in basically all of those stats nationwide. Only Georgia and Ohio St have given up fewer points than Utah this season.
The PAC-12 championship looks like it is likely set. With Utah's win, Arizona and UCLA are eliminated from getting there, and now Oregon has wrapped up the North. Utah still has Arizona and Colorado, and as long as they win both they're in. USC can technically make it if they win out and Utah loses at least one.
The top three are the obvious three we'd all expect at this point, and are in the order I think they should be in based on my opinion. Georgia has now climbed into the fourth position, thanks to their win over Auburn. Penn State, Utah, and Oregon then round out that group of one loss teams that are knocking on the door. Plenty of teams still have routes to the playoff if they can win out and win a conference championship. This obvious includes Georgia, Penn St, Utah, and Oregon, but also includes Oklahoma, Alabama, Minnesota, and maybe Baylor.
Ohio St is home against Penn St this week. If Ohio State wins, they wrap up the Big 10 East and Penn St's chances for the playoff are gone. If Penn State wins, they'll likely take the East and go to the conference championship and have a chance to make the playoff.
